Dante's Inferno- Gates of Dis and the Infernal Furies.
Photoshop
January 2007

"And he said other things which are indistinct
In my memory, because my eyes had drawn me
Completely to the tower's gleaming peak; here my instinct Recoiled at the sudden appearance of three
Hellish furies, blood–stained and obscene,
Female in gesture and anatomy. For belts they wore snakes of deepest green; Little serpents and horned vipers formed their hair, Binding their temples. Of these handmaids to the queen Of everlasting woe my master was well aware, And he warned, as we stared at the sight: "Of these ferocious Erinyes you must beware!"

I had so much fun doing the Beowulf drawing that I decided to do another drawing based on a story. I chose this time to do a story from Dante's Inferno. I found this drawing to be much more difficult for me. Overall I spent 10+ hours on this drawing, and spend another 6 hours on another attempt which I eventually abandoned. I'm still having trouble with lighting. I find myself redrawing the same part many times due to changes in my lighting scheme. 60 drawings in 90 days #11. (I'm a few behind at this point ;P)

Thanks for looking. Comments Critique and advice are always welcome.

Timelapse Videos to follow.
